Author Interview: K.A. Poe

K.A. Poe has written Twin Souls.

1. What is your name and where do you call home?
My name is Kayla, and I live in the deserts of Arizona.

2. Do you have a pen name?
K.A. Poe is my pen name, which is just my first and middle initials and last name.

3. What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
The name of the book is Twin Souls [Nevermore Book 1]. If I had to sum it up in twenty words or less, I would say...A teenage girl discovers everything she thought was myth, may be real. She must choose to embrace it or succumb.

4. Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
I have plans for at least two more books in the Nevermore series, and I am also working on a fantasy series.

5. How did you come up with the cover? Who designed the cover of your book?
If I completely described what inspired the cover, I might ruin some of what occurs in the story. I designed it.

6. Is there anything you would change about your book covers?
I am pretty satisfied with the cover of Twin Souls.

7. Would you have different book covers for different countries?
I don't think so.

8. How did you come up with the title for your book?
It relates to something that occurs in the novel. Initially, it was just 'Nevermore', but I decided I wanted that to be the series title.

9. Do you prefer e-books, paperbacks, hardcovers or audiobooks?
I love physical books, and I always will, but after using a Kindle I don't think I could ever go back to reading on anything else. It is far more convenient to read electronically.

10. Are you a self-published / Indie author?
I am.

11. Have you ever read a book more than once? And if so what was it?
I have read multiple books in the Harry Potter series multiple times, as well as A Wrinkle in Time.

12. Have you ever read a book just based on it’s cover?
More often than not, I do judge a book by its cover. But I won't buy a book solely based on the cover, it just intrigues me to look in it and see if it catches my interest.

13. Do you have any advice for other writers? And what’s the best advice that you have been given when it comes to writing?
If you get stuck, open up a blank document and just write anything that comes to mind. Read a lot, it helps feed your muse, and never give up!

14. Where can your readers follow you?
