Promotion: Kali: The Ghosting Of Sepulcher Bay by Eric Griffith

Kali: The Ghosting Of Sepulcher Bay
By Eric Griffith

Kaliope "Kali" Stergakos is dealing with divorced parents, a crush on a boy her best friend also adores, and spirits of the dead talking to her all the time. Even worse, they take over Kali's body when she sleeps. Despite growing up in a suburban necropolis where the dead outnumber the living, this possession stuff never happens to anyone else.

At least, it didn't. Kali and her friends, both living and dead, find evidence of other possessions and unearth a plot by ghosts to take over the bodies of the living, permanently. Now it's up to her to prevent the ectoplasmic minions of a formerly-dead madman from stealing the bodies they desperately crave.

Author Interview: Eric Griffith

Eric Griffith has written Kali: The Ghosting Of Selpulcher Bay.

1. What is your name and where do you call home?
Eric Griffith, and I live in the idyllic college town of Ithaca, New York, in the Finger Lakes region.

2. What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
Kali: The Ghosting Of Sepulcher Bay is about a girl with a ghost possession problem who has to save the world from the dead taking over the living.

3. Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
Kali is book one of a series; I'm working on the sequel right now, and I'm sure there will be a third. Everything must be a trilogy, it's a rule.

4. How long have you been writing?
I got seriously back into fiction writing after taking many years off about 8 years ago. My advice to writers: don't take any years off.

5. Do you gift books to readers for book reviews?
Totally.

6. How did you come up with the cover? Who designed the cover of your book?
I'm friends with some very talented photographers and designers. We took a friend of mine out to a cemetery, dressed her up like Kali, took some photos, and I let them work their magic.

7. Which is your favourite cover of all the books you have written?
I'm very partial to the cover of my first published novel, Beta Test, which features the lead character screaming in terror at the approach of a giant monster – a scene which is definitely in the book.

8. Did you listen to any particular songs whilst writing your books?
The works of John Williams from many many movies inspires me to be my most dramatic and cinematic.

9. How did you come up with the title for your book?
Beta Test was the title of the book before I even wrote it. For Kali: The Ghosting Of Sepulcher Bay, it's a Frankenstein-y title where I wanted to get a lot of elements in there about the setting, the character, and her problem. It's probably way to long, and definitely a pain to type all the time!

10. Are you a self-published / Indie author?
I'm lucky in that Beta Test was traditionally published (by Hadley Rille Books www.hadleyrillebooks.com); but with Kali I decided to try my hand at indie publishing all by myself.

11. What is your favourite book genre at the moment?
I'm totally addicted to crime thrillers by the likes of Michael Connelly and John Sandford.

12. What book are you reading at the moment? And in what format?
I'm listening to the serialized version of The Human Division by John Scalzi, and sometimes I get installments as an ebook for Kindle, sometimes I get the audiobook from Audible.com. It depends. They're about an hour each.

13. Where can your readers follow you?

Touched by Corrine Jackson

ISBN: 9780758273338
Publisher: Kensington Teen
Pages: 343

Touched is the first book in the Sense Thieves series.

Remy O’Malley heals people with touch - but every injury she cures becomes her own. Living in a household with an abusive stepfather, she has healed untold numbers of broken bones, burns, and bruises. And then one night her stepfather goes too far.

Being sent to live with her estranged father offers a clean start and she is eager to take it. Enter Asher Blackwell. Once a Protector of Healers, Asher sacrificed his senses to become immortal. Only by killing a Healer can a Protector recover their human senses. Falling in love is against the rules between these two enemies. Because Remy has the power to make Protectors human again, and when they find out, they’ll be coming for her - if Asher doesn’t kill her first.

I received a copy of Touched by Corrine Jackson for review from Kensington Teen. Although I enjoyed reading Touched, it wasn't what I had initially thought it would be. Unfortunately, quite a few of the elements within Touched seemed similar to other books, so at times it felt as though I was re-reading those other books, rather than reading a totally new one. The Protector & Healer concept was interesting to read at first, but unfortunately I had guessed the ending quite a few pages before. Even though the cover of Touched is quite pretty, it doesn't really seem to be very strongly connected to the story within.

A Really Awesome Mess
By Trish Cook & Brendan Halpin

A Really Awesome Mess will be released on the 23rd of July.

Two teenagers. Two very bumpy roads taken that lead to Heartland Academy.
Justin was just having fun, but when his dad walked in on him with a girl in a very compromising position, Justin's summer took a quick turn for the worse. His parents' divorce put Justin on rocky mental ground, and after a handful of Tylenol lands him in the hospital, he has really hit rock bottom.

Emmy never felt like part of her family. She was adopted from China. Her parents and sister tower over her and look like they came out of a Ralph Lauren catalog - and Emmy definitely doesn't. After a scandalous photo of Emmy leads to vicious rumors around school, she threatens the boy who started it all on Facebook.

Justin and Emmy arrive at Heartland Academy, a reform school that will force them to deal with their issues, damaged souls with little patience for authority. But along the way they will find a ragtag group of teens who are just as broken, stubborn, and full of sarcasm as themselves. In the end, they might even call each other friends.
