Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life.
He was wrong.
Now he’s trapped in a school that’s surrounded by a razor-wire fence. A school where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into groups in order to survive.
Where breaking the rules equals death.
But when Benson stumbles upon the school’s real secret, he realizes that playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than death, and that escape—his only real hope for survival—may be impossible.
I received this title from Netgalley. I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderfully spun, dystopian tale from start to finish! The end was not at all what I expected, to be totally honest I was a little disappointed with the ending as compared to the rest of the book the ending just didn't measure up. However, I would love to read the second book! All the characters were well written but my personal favourites were Benson Fisher, mainly because of his determined nature and wit, and Lily, because of her unforeseen strength, intelligence and cunning not only on the paintball fields but also while she was in the school itself. The cover (which I love!) depicts the book's contents perfectly, the blurred effect representing the confusion and uncertainty throughout the book.
