Cover Reveal: Silent Echoes by Aimee Laine

Silent Echoes is the second book in the Games Of Zeus series and will be released on the 11th of March 2013.
When it seems no one is watching, somebody always is.

For years, Ian Sands has enjoyed his life as a bachelor, taking advantage of singlehood and exploring his own definition of passion—whoever she may be. Blonde. Brunette. Tall. Short. Hot. Not. Five months ago, all that changed.

Ian’s been celibate, frustrated and desperately seeking answers to why one woman, who doesn’t play by girls’ rules, haunts his every waking moment.

As a renovations specialist, Taylor Marsh lives, works and breathes construction—a profession her southern belle of a mother would rather Taylor not touch. The same goes for Ian; Mama Marsh would never approve of him.

Like Ian, though, each time he and Taylor draw near, something compels her to get closer.

Something else tells her to run away.

Fast.

As much as their histories suggest they shouldn’t be together, neither Taylor nor Ian can deny the pull, and the two succumb, indulging in a relationship that brings pleasure to body, mind and soul.

Doing so, though, also ushers in a series of events both should have foreseen as well as one final outcome neither expected.

My Opinion:
Although, I haven't read this book, it seems as though the cover depicts the blurb well, without giving much away, which is one of the main reasons I really like the cover of Silent Echoes! I love the muted, simple colours that have been used on in the cover image! If I saw this book on a shelf in my local bookstore, I would definitely pick it up to look at!

Wiccan
By M. Leighton

Where does evil live? In the heart? Or in the blood?

Nearly-nineteen year old Mercy Holloway has a gift. Long ago murders play out right before her eyes when she passes over a place of death, but Mercy never thought that her unusual ability would interfere with her having a normal college experience. Until today.

On her way to school, Mercy witnesses another murder—only this one’s different. And Mercy’s the only one who can do anything about it. Out of time and out of options, Mercy takes what little information she has to the police where she meets Detective Caleb Grayson. Grayson doesn’t necessarily believe Mercy, he’s just better at hiding his feelings than most. It’s not long, however, before Grayson has no choice but to believe her.

As the two embark on a mission to solve a murder, Mercy starts having more visions. Only these contain messages. And they’re meant for her. This powerful, evil killer knows things about Mercy that she didn’t even know herself, things she never wanted to find out.

Body by body, Mercy discovers that her gift is not a gift at all, but a curse. And it’s one she can’t escape. It runs in her veins. Can Mercy and Grayson catch a killer and capture love? Or are they destined to fail... at both?

In order to save her home, the lives of her family, and all of humanity, Madly must learn to wield her exceptional powers and recapture the Lore before it’s too late and all is lost. But Madly’s only help are her two best friends and the Sentinel, Jackson Hamilton, that threatens both her heart and her destiny. Author Interview: M. Leighton

M. Leighton has written the Madly, The Fahllen, the Blood Like Poison, the Wiccan and The Eclipse series.

1. What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
My most recent book is called The Wild Ones and it’s a contemporary romance about forbidden love and what Cami and Trick are willing to go through for each other.

2. Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
I am currently working on a stand-alone contemporary romance, but later in the year, I’ll be writing the fourth book in a series called Blood Like Poison.

3. What or who inspired you to start writing? And how long have you been writing?
The end of Twilight inspired me to start writing, as cliché as that sounds. I was devastated when I finished the series and I wanted to write about my own characters. That way, I could keep them as long as I liked. That was in June of 2009, when I wrote my first novel. The rest, as they say, is history.

4. Do you gift books to readers for book reviews?
Not unless they are bloggers. I gift books to readers occasionally, but never with the expectation of a review. A review would be nice and very much appreciated, but I NEVER mention it.

5. How did you come up with the cover? Who designed the cover of your book?
With the exception of one, I have done all my covers using stock art. I usually have a specific idea in mind and I brows the pictures until I find something that fits. Of course, sometimes, I see a picture I love and work the story around it, but that doesn’t happen very often.

6. Which is your favourite cover of all the books you have written?
Probably Madly. I love that artist’s interpretation of a mermaid.

7. Is there anything you would change about your book covers?
Some yes, some no. I would love to work with a professional who could give them all something that is unique to my work, but until then, I’m pretty okay with what I’ve got.

8. Would you have different book covers for different countries?
I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea, but it has never occurred to me, to be honest.

9. How did you come up with the title for your book?
My most recent, The Wild Ones, comes from a line in the book that’s actually referring to wild horses. It suits the main male character so perfectly, though, it is once used in reference to him.

10. Is there anything you would change about your book? And why?
I would construct it to be at least a two-book series. That’s probably where I’ll end up going anyway, but I wish I’d left it open in a different way.

11. Do you have a book trailer? And what are your thoughts on book trailers?
I have one that a reader did and I love it. I like book trailers and I’ve done them before, but I can’t say they are a priority for me.

12. What is your opinion on ARCs?
I love doing them as long as the source is trustworthy.

13. Do you prefer e-books, paperbacks, hardcovers or audiobooks?
I still love a traditional paperback. I’m not sure why, but I love to hold it in my hands as I read.

14. Are you a self-published / Indie author?
I am self-published. Indie and proud of it. LOL

15. Where can your readers follow you?

Promotion: The Reaping by M. Leighton

The Reaping
By M. Leighton

The Reaping is the first book in The Fahllen series.

Every hell has its devil. And Carson is about to become intimately acquainted with hers.

Seventeen-year-old wallflower Carson Porter has always dreamed of being something special, but what she gets isn’t what she signed up for.

Yeah, a girl’s supposed to change as she gets older, but this is ridiculous! Shiny skin, greener eyes and a run-in with the flesh-eating dead are just a few of the changes Carson has to adjust to, not to mention the arrival of very hot and very dangerous Derek Hrolf. If all that wasn’t enough to turn her once hum-drum life into something unrecognizable, a twin sister that haunts her from the shadows and a wheeling, dealing collector of souls will definitely do the trick. The question is: what will her life become? And what will she become?

Author Interview: C.J. Redwine

C.J. Redwine has written Defiance.

1. What is your name and where do you call home?
C.J. Redwine and I live in Nashville, Tennessee

2. What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 20 or less words, what would you say?
DEFIANCE: Post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure with romance, danger, and a girl determined to get revenge.

3. Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
This is book one in a trilogy. The next installments will hit the shelves in fall of `13 and `14.

4. How did you come up with the cover? Who designed the cover of your book?
The amazing team at Balzer + Bray designed the cover. I nearly licked my monitor when I saw it. They did such a fabulous job, and I’m grateful because I have zero talent when it comes to artistic design!

5. How did you come up with the title for your book?
The original title was actually THE COURIER’S DAUGHTER, but after I sold the series, we changed the title to DEFIANCE. The publisher wanted something with a bit more punch to it to really capture the fierceness of the story. I’m glad they helped me with the new title because I freely admit to being one of the worst title-choosers of all time. One of my previous books (not yet released) was called Something Hinky on the Mountain for the longest time because I just couldn’t think of something better. And clearly, ANYTHING is better than that.

6. Do you have a book trailer? And what are your thoughts on book trailers?
I do have a trailer! I love a well-done book trailer. I’m addicted to going to the theater and one of my favorite parts is watching the previews. I love it when I gain both a solid grasp of the story and the lovely chills-up-the-spine feeling from an amazing trailer.

7. Do you prefer e-books, paperbacks, hardcovers or audiobooks?
I love e-books, paper backs, and hard covers! I’m not a huge audiobook fan, but that’s only because my attention wanders so much when I’m listening to them. I need the connection of seeing the words on the page.

8. Have you ever read a book more than once? And if so what was it?
Oh, yes! Actually, I keep all the books I really, really love and read them all more than once. In the last few years, I’ve re-read the entire Harry Potter series, Hunger Games, Divergent, the Anne of Green Gables series, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

9. Have you ever bought a specific edition of a book because of its cover? (For example a UK, US or Canadian version)
No, though it’s fun to see the different covers offered. I buy whatever I can get my hands on the fastest.

10. Have you ever read a book just based on its cover?
No, though the cover is one of the first things that draws me to a book. I have to also love the synopsis. And sometimes I open it and read a page or two to make sure it will draw me in. If I’m still unsure, I text a friend or two who read as voraciously as I do and ask them if they’ve read and if I’d love it.

11. Has the quality of the cover of a book ever put you off of reading it?
Lol. Yes! I hated the covers for the Hunger Games trilogy. They just did nothing to pull me in. But I kept hearing everyone say how amazing the books were. So, a month before MOCKING JAY came out, I bought HUNGER GAMES, read it, and was an instant fangirl for life.

12. Do you have any advice for other writers? And what’s the best advice that you have been given when it comes to writing?
No advice comes close to this: keep writing. No matter what. It gets you through rejections and market slumps. And continuously pushing yourself to improve is how you learn your craft.

13. Where can your readers follow you?
